BIG WRITE TALK HOMEWORK - WEEK 2

Image result for Parliament of WA Logos For Big Write on Thursday, we aim to write a letter explaining why each student should be selected for a visit to Parliament House. There are limited places for this opportunity, so make the most of your chance to join in.

Parents, please encourage students to think about what they know about parliament. What is a democracy? Is politics a good thing? Who is responsible for governing our land? Do they have an interest in politics? How do we give back to our community?

Leadership is an important quality for politicians. How do students demonstrate leadership at school? (Student Representatives). Does your child have a burning issue or interest they are concerned with, Eg. health, environment, equality. How does parliament impact on these?

We will be briefly covering the roles of government in class and the importance of people contributing to the country they live in, as more  preparation for this writing task. Any other assistance will greatly assist your child with this topic.
