Term One Student Representatives 2018.

Congratulations to Jamie, Rutvi, Lincoln, Elice, Sabbir, Charlotte and Anya who have been announced as Student Representatives for Term One. We look forward to working with you.

Australia Day Dress Up.

On Friday the whole school had a dress up day to commemorate Australia Day. The gold coin donation went towards the Act for Kids charity which helps less fortunate children. In the classroom, we worked on a Venn Diagram that compared and contrasted Australia Day with Waitangi Day in New Zealand.

Parent Night Information 

  Parent Information Evening - Our Parent Information Evening will be held in Week 3, Tuesday 13 February for all classes. The proposed schedule is as follows:

      

                        4.45 – 5.30pm         Rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9

                  5.30 – 6.15pm         Rooms 7, 10, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, and 30  

                  6.15 – 7.00pm         Rooms 13, 17, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28  

                  7.00 – 7.45pm         Rooms 8, 11, 12, 18, 22, 27, 29

Welcome to 2018.


Today we had a great day together as a class for the first time. We talked about our learning goals for the year and how we should strive to do our personal best, to show progress and improvement, so we can our full potential and be ready for high school. As well as establishing class routines, Mr Sherlock talked about his expectations of us. Mrs Natalie Queiros will be in the room on Thursdays, joining us on our wonderful learning journey in 2018.We have started the process of writing our Student Representative selection speeches for the selection and assembly in Week Two.


Looking forward to seeing all of you at the Parent Information Night on Tuesday February 13.

Graduation Lunch.

The Year Six students celebrated their graduation with a lovely lunch at the Fremantle Esplanade Hotel. They travelled to the restaurant by bus. The food was fantastic and it was a lovely opportunity to see the students dressed up. 

Visit to Parliament House

All of the Year Six students were asked to write letters to Ms Robert, to express their interest in touring Parliament House and having lunch with the MLA for Forrestfield, Mr Stephen Price.  Eight lucky students were chosen for this great experience. The students were very impressed with what they saw. They discovered the history associated with Parliament House. The students expressed how much they really appreciated the opportunity to have lunch with Mr Price and tour Parliament House.

Graduation Ceremony 2017.

The Year Sixes had their Graduation Ceremony on Thursday November 30. The students scrubbed up very well. We have been so very proud of their achievements during the year. The ceremony highlighted their successes. Congratulations to Abbey, for winning the Year Six Sports Award. 

I would like to thank all of the Year Six Teachers for all of their efforts in the lead up to the ceremony. A special thank you to Mr Meachem, Ms Roberts and the Administration team for assisting in the coordination of the night.

Year Six Kalgoorlie Camp.

We have just returned from a very successful camp to Kalgoorlie. The students had a wonderful time and really enjoyed themselves. We all took part in gold panning, a historical visit to Coolgardie, a visit to the Kalgoorlie and Boulder Town Halls and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. We visited the Loopline Museum, played Two-Up and we went for a swim at the Goldfields Oasis Aquatic Centre. I would like to thank Mr Meachem, Mrs Lowther, Mrs Lavery, Miss McKercher and Miss Preston for all of their assistance.

Hello Parents and Caregivers of Room 26,

My name is Kirsty McKercher and I am in my third year of completing a Bachelor in Education degree at Edith Cowan University (ECU). I have been placed into Mr Sherlock’s and Mr Meachem’s classroom for my five weeks of professional practice. For me, the professional practice is what really cemented my passion and love for teaching so I am very excited to be working alongside Mr Sherlock and Mr Meachem for the remaining three weeks. I am also very eager to be accompanying the Year Sixes on their camp to Kalgoorlie as this will be a great educational experience for myself and the students.
