Last Friday, our classes held our assembly. Our item was based around the fact that it is cool to be intelligent. Mrs Queiros and I were so impressed with the efforts of the students. Your enthusiasm and the way you delivered your lines and danced was exceptional. Well done to the speakers and our assembly hosts. I would also like to thank the parents and guardians for the effort you put into preparing the student's costumes. We really appreciated Mr Sanderson writing the assembly item. We would like to thank our class for winning the Music and LOTE awards.

Congratulations to the students mentioned below for achieving the following awards:

Jai, Shayla, Steffi and Savannah received Honour Certificates. Kaity and Sanj received Literacy Pro Awards. Sanj was awarded the Science Award. Ella received the Values Award for Respect.

Aussie Day Dress Up.

The Australia Day Dress Up, was held on the Friday of Week Two. It was great to see everyone dressed up. All donations will be sent to the Queensland Flood Appeal. The day raised $952 and this will be donated on behalf of the school.

Parent Information Night 2019

A huge Thank You to the parents who were able to attend the Room 31 Parent Night, during Week Three. At the meeting, we discussed information about classroom and school procedures. We also outlined what will be taught throughout the year. Mrs Queiros and I are looking forward to developing a positive and supportive relationship with you all during the year. We will place the Powerpoint Presentation from the night on the Class Blog shortly.

Congratulations to Eli, Savannah, Steffi, Jai, Luke, Shayla and Makayla for being elected as Student Representatives for Term One 2019. We look forward to working with you. 


WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL FOR 2019.

Welcome Parents and Caregivers to the new school year. We have made an excellent start to the year. Mrs Queiros and I are very grateful for the wonderful class we have been given. 

As a class, we have spent time discussing how we should strive to achieve our personal best by making progress and reaching our full potential. We have taken the time to discuss class routines, learning goals and how we can prepare for high school. 

Mrs Queiros will be teaching the class on Thursdays. We both look forward to the wonderful learning journey that lies ahead. We have started the process of writing our Student Representative Speeches. Some students will be selected to become a Student Representative at Friday’s assembly.  

 Parent Information Night 2019

We would like to formally invite you to Room 31’s Parent Information Evening. At the meeting we will provide information on classroom and school procedures. We will discuss our expectations and outline what will be taught throughout the year. The night is a parent only night. We look forward to seeing you there.

Senior Assembly Week Eight Term Four.

Congratulations to Haziq, Lincoln, Chloe and Jesse for receiving an award at the Senior Assembly. Congratulations also to Jarni and Shweta for receiving their Bronze and Silver Literacy Pro Awards. Maunil our champion reader, received his Dragon Glass award for the 1500 points he has accumulated this year. Congratulations to Caitlin for winning a prize in The Royal Show Art Competition. 

Graduation Lunch:

The Year Six Graduands celebrated their Graduation with a lovely lunch at the Fremantle Esplanade Hotel. We travelled to the restaurant by bus. The students sat down to a delicious buffet lunch. It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to dress up and socialise with each other.

Graduation Ceremony

The Year Sixes had their Graduation Ceremony last Thursday Night. The students looked fantastic in their formal dress. We have been so very proud of the Year Six group this year. We have been impressed with the way the students have worked so hard this year. The ceremony highlighted their individual achievements and successes. Congratulations to Maunil for winning the Lesmurdie Scholarship Award and to Elice for winning the Year Six Sports Award.  A huge thank you to all of the Wattle Grove Staff, for making the night so very successful and memorable.

Super Scientist Term Four

Throughout Week Seven, students are required to present information based on a Science concept, as part of our whole school Super Scientist Competition. This presentation should be no longer than 6 (six) minutes in length. The main purpose of the presentation is to explain the science.

Your presentation will be assessed on:

·         The accuracy of the science content,

·         How clear your explanation is in your PowerPoint

·         The detail and research shown in your background knowledge

·         Use of scientific language

·         Presentation and showmanship

·         Speaking skills

·         Demonstrate engagement with the audience
